Regal - can you hear me?

I received an email from Sarah the other day that said:

Just to give you a heads up, Regal Greetings and Gifts are not quick to respond (if they ever do) to emails.

I’m starting to think that the ‘new’ Regal is not the wonderful company I remember.  Communication with Regal before was a pleasure.  They responded to emails within a day and they were very helpful. 

I’m not having the same feeling about the new Regal.  I originally emailed them on 01/29/07 and again on 02/15/07.  I haven’t heard one response from them.  No ‘thank you we have received your email’, nothing what-so-ever.

I’m beginning to have 2nd thoughts about reopening Regalit.com.  If this is the type of service that I’ll receive from Regal, this is not good for Regalit.com.  My customers are very important to me and any negative experiences from Regal reflect on my site as well.

Congratulations to Ryan & Kelly at Regal on their new baby girl!  I have a 6 month girl myself and know the joys a new born can bring to your life and family.  Have a wonderful time and charish the time when their young.

2nd Email to Regal.

Well, I never did hear back from Regal.  Maybe my email was overlooked or misplaced.  Maybe it was ignored, I don’t know.

I’m going to be optimistic and say that the email was just overlooked rather than ignored.  In keeping with this spirit, I have email them again tonight.

I’m hoping that I do hear from them soon.  They have a new catalogue coming out soon and I would like to get the site open before than.

Regalit.com Forum

For those interested, I have also created a forum that you can post your questions, comments, and more.  Please feel free to post.  I know there’s not a lot of activity right now, but I’m hoping as more people register, they will start posting.

You’ll also notice that I have posted a lot of the questions I received over the last year or so in my inbox to the forum.  I hope you found them useful and answered a few questions you may have had yourself.  If you have other questions, feel free to post them on the forum. I’ll answer them as soon as I can.

No Response from Regal.

Well, it’s been exactly one week since I emailed Regal.  I have yet to hear a response.  Not even a reply to state they will look into it or forward it off.  Very discouraging.

The reason for my email was to request their assistance with getting Regalit.com back up and running.  One of the biggest hurdles that’s preventing me from relaunching the site is the catalogue. 

Previously I used to run a script on their site that semi-automatically imported their catalog into my site.  The script wasn’t 100% automatic, but it allowed me to import the entire catalog into my site within a couple hours rather than days.

For me, this is a big thing.  I’m a father of two, working full time, and way too busy to spend days trying to put the new catalogue online.

I gave Regal some very easy-to-implement solutions that would allow me and other representatives like me the ability to download their catalogue to promote their products and services.

The most successful businesses online realize the power of affiliates to make a business a success and being a representative of Regal is similar to being an affiliate.  I am not sure why they don’t realize the huge benefits that implementing some of the suggestions I gave.

I haven’t had the opportunity to place any orders with the new Regal yet and I hope this is not the trend now with them.

I’ve been surfing the net just to see what types of sites are out there that mention Regal Greetings.  I would have assumed that when Regal went into receivership there would have been a ‘buzz’ online or atleast some press releases when they reopened.

I didn’t find a lot.  Mostly just outdated pages displaying old catalogs (like mine! LOL).

A couple days ago I sent an email to Regal requesting them to implement the ability for me to access their catalogue.  Before they went into receivership I used to be able to access their catalog and run a script that automatically parsed the products and entered it into my database.

This was a real time saver whenever a new catalog came out.  Instead of having to manually enter each and every product into my site, I just spent a couple hours uploading the products.

As of today I haven’t heard back from them yet.   I’ll keep you posted if I hear anything.

Welcome!

Well, It’s been over a year since Regalit.com was last updated. When Regal Greetings & Gifts went into receivership in 2004, I was forced to shut down the site. It was a real disappointment to say the least.

I met a lot of really great people and enjoyed being their representative. I look forward to working with them again in 2007.

I’m hoping that I can get a few details worked out with Regal. I’m very busy so I need to be able to get Regal’s catalog up and running very quickly. With the ‘old’ Regal I had access to download the catalog directly into my database. So far, I haven’t been able to get this worked out with the ‘new’ Regal.

I’ll keep you posted with any updates so please check back often. If you’re familiar with RSS, I recommend to subscribe to get the updates automatically.
